Narrative:
After leveling FL330 upper EICAS message left hydraulic electrical pump with the associate overhead light on as well. Checked fluid level -- decreasing. Followed emergency operations manual checklist and shut off pumps to the left engine. All fluid was gone. Did not want to land flaps 20 degrees at high altitude airport and with dfw dispatch agreement, diverted into dfw. Had to use alternate flap/alternate gear procedures. No nosewheel steering, but had enough speed to clear runway onto highspd and stopped. Had called for emergency truck (a tug) with maintenance to pin gear waiting for us at that point. Emergency personnel inspected aircraft and found nothing other than fluid. Had maintenance pin gear off runway 17R -- longest runway. No other events, towed to gate.
