Narrative:
I was en route from rhv to C83 and intended to utilize the GPS 30 approach. After loading the approach into my kcn 90B IFR certified GPS, I decided to head direct to the tracy GPS fix. I thought that the tracy fix was the same as the tracy airport. Unfortunately, the fix was slightly northwest of the airport. My path took me directly over R2513(?). Since I was descending for the GPS approach, I possibly broke the 2999 ft MSL ceiling of the restr area. Correction: 1) change the name or the spelling of the fix. 2) depict the tracy airport on the commercial approach plate.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: C414A PLT USING GPS ENTERS R2513.
Narrative: I WAS ENRTE FROM RHV TO C83 AND INTENDED TO UTILIZE THE GPS 30 APCH. AFTER LOADING THE APCH INTO MY KCN 90B IFR CERTIFIED GPS, I DECIDED TO HEAD DIRECT TO THE TRACY GPS FIX. I THOUGHT THAT THE TRACY FIX WAS THE SAME AS THE TRACY ARPT. UNFORTUNATELY, THE FIX WAS SLIGHTLY NW OF THE ARPT. MY PATH TOOK ME DIRECTLY OVER R2513(?). SINCE I WAS DSNDING FOR THE GPS APCH, I POSSIBLY BROKE THE 2999 FT MSL CEILING OF THE RESTR AREA. CORRECTION: 1) CHANGE THE NAME OR THE SPELLING OF THE FIX. 2) DEPICT THE TRACY ARPT ON THE COMMERCIAL APCH PLATE.
