Narrative:
L1011-500 and -100 tires are almost identical. I installed a -100 tire on a -500 aircraft on front #1 location. Tires should have a color coded rim because it's not always easy to see series of tire at night. Problem was corrected at next layover on the following day.

Title: AN L1011-500 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH AN INCORRECT TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY INSTALLED ON THE MAIN LNDG GEAR.
Narrative: L1011-500 AND -100 TIRES ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL. I INSTALLED A -100 TIRE ON A -500 ACFT ON FRONT #1 LOCATION. TIRES SHOULD HAVE A COLOR CODED RIM BECAUSE IT'S NOT ALWAYS EASY TO SEE SERIES OF TIRE AT NIGHT. PROB WAS CORRECTED AT NEXT LAYOVER ON THE FOLLOWING DAY.
