Narrative:
On final vector for the localizer runway 28R at cmh, we got a right engine fire indication. The first officer was flying and I did the QRH checklist. I declared an emergency with ATC and asked them to inform our company. I then informed the flight attendant of the engine fire and advised her that we would be evacuating on the runway and we were only 4 mins from landing. I shot both fire bottles and the engine fire light remained on. I informed tower that the light was still on. They recommended that I stop on the runway (I agreed) and that crash fire rescue equipment was ready. I chose not to do the QRH, due to the proximity to cmh. I felt that my time would be better spent monitoring the approach. We landed uneventfully on the runway and evacuate/evacuationed through the main cabin door.
