Narrative:
Location: direct to diw east coast over atlantic ocean. Leveloff with approximately 1800 pounds in center tank. Turned on both center pumps to deplete approximately 800 pounds. Started clock to estimate time to turn off pumps. Briefly discussed maximum altitude aircraft was capable of obtaining with moderate turbulence. Referred to performance manual. After verifying FL410 was acceptable looked up and noticed center tank fuel had just reached zero pounds and turned off pumps.

Title: A B767-200 PIC CAPT BURNS THE CTR TANK DRY WHILE PREOCCUPIED WITH CLB CAPABILITIES OF THE ACFT FOR POSSIBLE CLB TO FL410 E OF JAX, FL.
Narrative: LOCATION: DIRECT TO DIW EAST COAST OVER ATLANTIC OCEAN. LEVELOFF WITH APPROX 1800 LBS IN CTR TANK. TURNED ON BOTH CTR PUMPS TO DEPLETE APPROX 800 LBS. STARTED CLOCK TO ESTIMATE TIME TO TURN OFF PUMPS. BRIEFLY DISCUSSED MAX ALT ACFT WAS CAPABLE OF OBTAINING WITH MODERATE TURB. REFERRED TO PERFORMANCE MANUAL. AFTER VERIFYING FL410 WAS ACCEPTABLE LOOKED UP AND NOTICED CTR TANK FUEL HAD JUST REACHED ZERO LBS AND TURNED OFF PUMPS.
