Narrative:
Aircraft departed buy on an IFR clearance to the west. We got a primary radar target and no transponder. Pilot recycled transponder, but no joy. Rdu advised they had a good transponder as did ZTL. This is an ongoing occurrence with mode south xponders. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter added no new information except to say the equipment has since been repaired.

Narrative: ACFT DEPARTED BUY ON AN IFR CLRNC TO THE W. WE GOT A PRIMARY RADAR TARGET AND NO XPONDER. PLT RECYCLED XPONDER, BUT NO JOY. RDU ADVISED THEY HAD A GOOD XPONDER AS DID ZTL.
