Narrative:
Departed centennial airport on VFR flight plan. Received VFR briefing about 45 mins prior to departure. I had filed 'back-up' IFR flight plan. Approximately 10 mi east of centennial, WX deteriorated 'rapidly.' I called center and asked to pick up my IFR clearance and was told it would be a while, remain VFR. I informed center that would not be possible, and received my clearance. On entering clouds, we encountered 'unforecast' icing. We climbed to 'VFR conditions on top,' then flew on to hays, ks. Build-ups and ice required slight deviation in altitude and heading +/-200 ft.
