Narrative:
The pilots did a fabulous job with their decision to divert to jfk and informing the passenger. We had just started our breakfast service and flight attendant #2 and I smelled an electrical smell. I went up to inform the cockpit, just as they were calling the #1 flight attendant to say they smelled it, too. They chose to shut off all electrical and the smell went away! We then went to jfk to have it checked out. Passenger were fine, most thanked us for being safe! (Of course, there is always those few that are upset.) the landing was uneventful and we proceeded to the gate. The aircraft was taken OTS.
