Narrative:
On the evening of jun/xa/00, I was part of a reserve crew based in omaha. At XB30 we were instructed to fly to ind. At altitude, company operations contacted us and we were told to divert to phl. From phl we were to return to ind. When I arrived in ind, I was told I would now be flying the aircraft outbound to san via phx. After departing phx and en route to san, I realized that I was going to exceed 8 hours of flight time. By the time we landed in san, I had worked a 15 1/2 hour duty day, at night. I made a mistake not catching the flight time prior to departure, though I believe this is a result of almost 16 hour duty days on the back side of the clock.
