Narrative:
During boarding, close to departure time, a passenger asked to deplane the aircraft for a moment. I told him he could deplane, but he must take his carry-on luggage and the agents would have to be notified that he was getting off. The passenger was irritated that he would have to go back to the aft of the aircraft to get his luggage. The passenger went back to his seat and told the flight attendant in the aft section that he would have to take 'his bomb off with him.' the passenger was removed from the aircraft and not allowed to reboard. The problem is that the public does not take airline safety and security seriously. Many passenger do not understand that any security threats (bombs) are taken very seriously, even if they were only 'joking.' also, the lack of respect the public has for the flight attendant's position and authority/authorized can create problems with passenger compliance with safety issues. The FAA needs to promote awareness of safety and security issues and be tougher on passenger misconduct.

Title: CABIN ATTENDANT RPT, S80, LGA-MCO. ON BOARDING, PAX WANTED TO GET OFF FOR A MIN. WAS TOLD HE'D HAVE TO TAKE CARRY-ON WITH HIM, BECAME ANGRY AND MADE BOMB JOKE. PAX REMOVED.
Narrative: DURING BOARDING, CLOSE TO DEP TIME, A PAX ASKED TO DEPLANE THE ACFT FOR A MOMENT. I TOLD HIM HE COULD DEPLANE, BUT HE MUST TAKE HIS CARRY-ON LUGGAGE AND THE AGENTS WOULD HAVE TO BE NOTIFIED THAT HE WAS GETTING OFF. THE PAX WAS IRRITATED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE AFT OF THE ACFT TO GET HIS LUGGAGE. THE PAX WENT BACK TO HIS SEAT AND TOLD THE FLT ATTENDANT IN THE AFT SECTION THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE 'HIS BOMB OFF WITH HIM.' THE PAX WAS REMOVED FROM THE ACFT AND NOT ALLOWED TO REBOARD. THE PROB IS THAT THE PUBLIC DOES NOT TAKE AIRLINE SAFETY AND SECURITY SERIOUSLY. MANY PAX DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT ANY SECURITY THREATS (BOMBS) ARE TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY, EVEN IF THEY WERE ONLY 'JOKING.' ALSO, THE LACK OF RESPECT THE PUBLIC HAS FOR THE FLT ATTENDANT'S POS AND AUTH CAN CREATE PROBS WITH PAX COMPLIANCE WITH SAFETY ISSUES. THE FAA NEEDS TO PROMOTE AWARENESS OF SAFETY AND SECURITY ISSUES AND BE TOUGHER ON PAX MISCONDUCT.
