Narrative:

Upon returning from flight, I learned that our poi at ral FSDO has changed his position regarding legality of having aeronca thrust reversers pinned per maintenance manual as not requiring MEL deferral. He now believes situation was in violation. When we departed, it was supposed to be legal, but now when we returned it is not ok.

Title: FLC OF AN ATX EXECUTIVE JET WERE INFORMED BY THEIR PRINCIPAL OPS INSPECTOR THAT THEY WERE ILLEGAL TO FLY WITH THE THRUST REVERSERS PINNED WITHOUT COMPLYING WITH MEL DEFERRAL PROCS.

Narrative: UPON RETURNING FROM FLT, I LEARNED THAT OUR POI AT RAL FSDO HAS CHANGED HIS POS REGARDING LEGALITY OF HAVING AERONCA THRUST REVERSERS PINNED PER MAINT MANUAL AS NOT REQUIRING MEL DEFERRAL. HE NOW BELIEVES SIT WAS IN VIOLATION. WHEN WE DEPARTED, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE LEGAL, BUT NOW WHEN WE RETURNED IT IS NOT OK.
