Narrative:

On landing at ZZZ the autospoilers deployed normally and then immediately stowed for no apparent reason. The landing was normal, the runway was dry, and there was little crosswind. Manual deployment ok. Crew could feel that spoilers deployed and stowed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the autospoilers deployed normally and immediately retracted with no indication of a problem. The reporter said the thrust levers were at the idle stops and did not contribute to the retraction. The reporter stated maintenance replaced a number of units and performed several tests but could not pinpoint an exact failed component. The flight recorder was removed for evaluation and no results have been released or published.

Title: AN MD80 ON LNDG HAD THE AUTO SPOILERS DEPLOY NORMALLY THEN IMMEDIATELY RESTOW WITH NO APPARENT REASON.

Narrative: ON LNDG AT ZZZ THE AUTOSPOILERS DEPLOYED NORMALLY AND THEN IMMEDIATELY STOWED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE LNDG WAS NORMAL, THE RWY WAS DRY, AND THERE WAS LITTLE XWIND. MANUAL DEPLOYMENT OK. CREW COULD FEEL THAT SPOILERS DEPLOYED AND STOWED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE AUTOSPOILERS DEPLOYED NORMALLY AND IMMEDIATELY RETRACTED WITH NO INDICATION OF A PROB. THE RPTR SAID THE THRUST LEVERS WERE AT THE IDLE STOPS AND DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THE RETRACTION. THE RPTR STATED MAINT REPLACED A NUMBER OF UNITS AND PERFORMED SEVERAL TESTS BUT COULD NOT PINPOINT AN EXACT FAILED COMPONENT. THE FLT RECORDER WAS REMOVED FOR EVALUATION AND NO RESULTS HAVE BEEN RELEASED OR PUBLISHED.
