Narrative:
ZOB called to say they stopped air carrier X at FL260, asked for control. They released control respect the aircraft Y at FL270 we were giving them at the time. Forwarded this message to the r-side. R-side acknowledged verbally and entered interim FL260 on air carrier X data block. At the time the incident occurred, I was looking through the strips for pertinent information coming off the printer. Air carrier X climbed to FL280. Separation was lost.
