Narrative:
After landing at atl, tower cleared us to the gate on his frequency. Time of night was XA00 local. We were the only aircraft moving on the airport at the time. I was subsequently advised that we were supposed to contact east ramp control. Signs or company charts should have an advisory that ramp control frequencys are in effect 24 hours a day.
