Narrative:

Flap control unit fault occurred in cruise. This was a regular occurence on aircraft wxxx. After landing in abc with zero flaps, the fault reset. I did not write the flaps up because it reset on the ground. During cruise on the way back to ZZZ, the same thing happened. I wrote the aircraft up in ZZZ. This was the 11TH write up on the flaps in 6 days. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the flap problem was corrected when the aircraft was taken out of service for several days and a positive fix accomplished. The reporter said a wire in the flap control circuit was found shorting to the structure. The reporter said the embraer 120 fleet are aging aircraft and the wiring is deteriorating causing abnormal amount of flap trouble.
