Narrative:
Upon checking safety related duties before takeoff and after the safety demonstration, I saw a child restraint seat was in the center seat. I advised the passenger (mother and father) that we will have to move the car seat to the window after takeoff. The captain had said prepare for takeoff. The car seat did not extend over seat nor did the girl's legs prevent the father seated at window from getting out in an emergency. The father said 'it took me 10 mins to strap this thing in, I'm not moving it. On another flight we had it in the center.' he told me if I wanted it in the window seat, I'd have to move it. I informed him of our air safety procedures and he still refused to move it. I called the purser and we took off. I came to him after the captain turned the seat belt sign off and said it's safe to move the seat to the window. He refused. Another flight attendant got involved because he wouldn't listen to me. He gave her the same response. We told him he must comply, and we told the captain. The father eventually moved the car seat. The captain spoke to the father upon deplaning and informed him of the FAA and our airline's safety procedures.

Title: CABIN ATTENDANT RPT, B757, FLL-SJU. PRE-DEP, FAMILY REFUSED TO PUT CHILD'S RESTRAINT SEAT IN PROPER SEAT LOCATION. CAPT ORDERED FATHER TO MOVE IT -- COMPLIED FINALLY.
Narrative: UPON CHKING SAFETY RELATED DUTIES BEFORE TKOF AND AFTER THE SAFETY DEMONSTRATION, I SAW A CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT WAS IN THE CTR SEAT. I ADVISED THE PAX (MOTHER AND FATHER) THAT WE WILL HAVE TO MOVE THE CAR SEAT TO THE WINDOW AFTER TKOF. THE CAPT HAD SAID PREPARE FOR TKOF. THE CAR SEAT DID NOT EXTEND OVER SEAT NOR DID THE GIRL'S LEGS PREVENT THE FATHER SEATED AT WINDOW FROM GETTING OUT IN AN EMER. THE FATHER SAID 'IT TOOK ME 10 MINS TO STRAP THIS THING IN, I'M NOT MOVING IT. ON ANOTHER FLT WE HAD IT IN THE CTR.' HE TOLD ME IF I WANTED IT IN THE WINDOW SEAT, I'D HAVE TO MOVE IT. I INFORMED HIM OF OUR AIR SAFETY PROCS AND HE STILL REFUSED TO MOVE IT. I CALLED THE PURSER AND WE TOOK OFF. I CAME TO HIM AFTER THE CAPT TURNED THE SEAT BELT SIGN OFF AND SAID IT'S SAFE TO MOVE THE SEAT TO THE WINDOW. HE REFUSED. ANOTHER FLT ATTENDANT GOT INVOLVED BECAUSE HE WOULDN'T LISTEN TO ME. HE GAVE HER THE SAME RESPONSE. WE TOLD HIM HE MUST COMPLY, AND WE TOLD THE CAPT. THE FATHER EVENTUALLY MOVED THE CAR SEAT. THE CAPT SPOKE TO THE FATHER UPON DEPLANING AND INFORMED HIM OF THE FAA AND OUR AIRLINE'S SAFETY PROCS.
