Narrative:
Descending into ord, we were given a heading to get vectored for the approach. We slowed to 250 KIAS and told the controller of the new speed. The controller said that he would appreciate being told of the new speed, and the captain reiterated that he had told the controller of the new speed.

Narrative: DSNDING INTO ORD, WE WERE GIVEN A HDG TO GET VECTORED FOR THE APCH. WE SLOWED TO 250 KIAS AND TOLD THE CTLR OF THE NEW SPD. THE CTLR SAID THAT HE WOULD APPRECIATE BEING TOLD OF THE NEW SPD, AND THE CAPT REITERATED THAT HE HAD TOLD THE CTLR OF THE NEW SPD.
