Narrative:
A descent was initiated from FL410. Upon reaching FL390, aircraft leveled off and then after approximately 1 min, captain side inner windscreen laminates shattered. Outside air temperature was -60 degrees C at FL390. Cruise speed was .77 mach. Pilots performed abnormal checklist and initiated descent to 10000 ft after declaring an emergency.

Narrative: A DSCNT WAS INITIATED FROM FL410. UPON REACHING FL390, ACFT LEVELED OFF AND THEN AFTER APPROX 1 MIN, CAPT SIDE INNER WINDSCREEN LAMINATES SHATTERED. OUTSIDE AIR TEMP WAS -60 DEGS C AT FL390. CRUISE SPD WAS .77 MACH. PLTS PERFORMED ABNORMAL CHKLIST AND INITIATED DSCNT TO 10000 FT AFTER DECLARING AN EMER.
