Narrative:

I was the #2 flight attendant and was busy doing the normal galley duties. The #3 and #4 flight attendants came to the rear of the aircraft where there were some empty seats. They moved 2 teen-aged passenger to the open seats and explained that they had moved them because they were seated next to a really weird male passenger in row X. I went up to check it out and observed a male about mid 20's who was very dirty and unkempt looking. He was rubbing lettuce on his face and cornbread through his hair. He had his head down, but when he raised his head to look up, his eyes were rolled back to the back of his head, so all you could see was the whites of his eyes. We notified the captain at once. There was another pilot from another airline seated near row X and the captain advised us to ask him, should it become necessary, if he would be willing to help the captain restrain the passenger. The other pilot agreed to help. When I walked back through the cabin, the passenger had his legs spread out across the rows and was picking at his legs to the point that he was breaking the skin and was bleeding slightly. At that point, the captain came to the back to observe the passenger for himself. We all came to the conclusion that he was keeping to himself and was not bothering anyone around him, so we decided to keep a close eye on him, but not to provoke him. About 1 1/2 hours later, we landed without incident. My jump seat is in the back, so I was the last flight attendant to come forward. He was still seated and all the other passenger were off. I told him that we were in denver, and he got up. He was met by auths and questioned. This concludes my account of the events of this flight. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the passenger was observed in the boarding area by the flight attendant taking tickets, and she said he wasn't acting weird or bothering anyone, he just looked weird. Once he got on board, he had orange juice to drink. According to the captain, his wife, who is a paramedic, had told him that consuming orange juice after taking certain types of illegal drugs can escalate the effects of the drug, so this may have been why his behavior in the boarding area was different from that on the airplane. The teen-aged kids, who were moved, were approximately 13 and 16 yrs old. After being informed by the flight attendants of the situation, the captain had them bring the deadheading pilot up to the cockpit for his assessment. The auths who met the flight were dressed in plain suits, so the reporter didn't know if they were police or security.

Title: CABIN ATTENDANT RPT, S80, MIA-DEN. WEIRD, DIRTY PAX UPSET TEENAGERS, WHO WERE MOVED TO BACK OF PLANE. PAX PUT LETTUCE ON FACE, CORNBREAD IN HAIR. DEADHEADING PLT CONFERRED WITH CAPT, NO DIVERSION. AUTHS MET FLT.

Narrative: I WAS THE #2 FLT ATTENDANT AND WAS BUSY DOING THE NORMAL GALLEY DUTIES. THE #3 AND #4 FLT ATTENDANTS CAME TO THE REAR OF THE ACFT WHERE THERE WERE SOME EMPTY SEATS. THEY MOVED 2 TEEN-AGED PAX TO THE OPEN SEATS AND EXPLAINED THAT THEY HAD MOVED THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE SEATED NEXT TO A REALLY WEIRD MALE PAX IN ROW X. I WENT UP TO CHK IT OUT AND OBSERVED A MALE ABOUT MID 20'S WHO WAS VERY DIRTY AND UNKEMPT LOOKING. WE NOTIFIED THE CAPT AT ONCE. THERE WAS ANOTHER PLT FROM ANOTHER AIRLINE SEATED NEAR ROW X AND THE CAPT ADVISED US TO ASK HIM, SHOULD IT BECOME NECESSARY, IF HE WOULD BE WILLING TO HELP THE CAPT RESTRAIN THE PAX. THE OTHER PLT AGREED TO HELP. WHEN I WALKED BACK THROUGH THE CABIN, THE PAX HAD HIS LEGS SPREAD OUT ACROSS THE ROWS AND WAS PICKING AT HIS LEGS TO THE POINT THAT HE WAS BREAKING THE SKIN AND WAS BLEEDING SLIGHTLY. AT THAT POINT, THE CAPT CAME TO THE BACK TO OBSERVE THE PAX FOR HIMSELF. WE ALL CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT HE WAS KEEPING TO HIMSELF AND WAS NOT BOTHERING ANYONE AROUND HIM, SO WE DECIDED TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON HIM, BUT NOT TO PROVOKE HIM. ABOUT 1 1/2 HRS LATER, WE LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MY JUMP SEAT IS IN THE BACK, SO I WAS THE LAST FLT ATTENDANT TO COME FORWARD. HE WAS STILL SEATED AND ALL THE OTHER PAX WERE OFF. I TOLD HIM THAT WE WERE IN DENVER, AND HE GOT UP. HE WAS MET BY AUTHS AND QUESTIONED. THIS CONCLUDES MY ACCOUNT OF THE EVENTS OF THIS FLT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT THE PAX WAS OBSERVED IN THE BOARDING AREA BY THE FLT ATTENDANT TAKING TICKETS, AND SHE SAID HE WASN'T ACTING WEIRD OR BOTHERING ANYONE, HE JUST LOOKED WEIRD. ONCE HE GOT ON BOARD, HE HAD ORANGE JUICE TO DRINK. ACCORDING TO THE CAPT, HIS WIFE, WHO IS A PARAMEDIC, HAD TOLD HIM THAT CONSUMING ORANGE JUICE AFTER TAKING CERTAIN TYPES OF ILLEGAL DRUGS CAN ESCALATE THE EFFECTS OF THE DRUG, SO THIS MAY HAVE BEEN WHY HIS BEHAVIOR IN THE BOARDING AREA WAS DIFFERENT FROM THAT ON THE AIRPLANE. THE TEEN-AGED KIDS, WHO WERE MOVED, WERE APPROX 13 AND 16 YRS OLD. AFTER BEING INFORMED BY THE FLT ATTENDANTS OF THE SIT, THE CAPT HAD THEM BRING THE DEADHEADING PLT UP TO THE COCKPIT FOR HIS ASSESSMENT. THE AUTHS WHO MET THE FLT WERE DRESSED IN PLAIN SUITS, SO THE RPTR DIDN'T KNOW IF THEY WERE POLICE OR SECURITY.
