Narrative:

Climbing out of 10000 ft, a 'bump' similar to wake turbulence was felt. Simultaneously the #1 autoplt disconnected (aircraft had history of #1 autoplt write-ups). No warning indications of any kind. Assumption was made that a cargo controller could have shifted. On landing in dtw, the tower advised that our tailcone was not latched and was hanging in an 'unfastened' position. No fire, smoke, warnings, etc. Taxied to gate and deplaned passenger. Note: aircraft had just come from hangar and was on its first passenger segment since maintenance.
