Narrative:
Upon landing on runway 23, tower cleared traffic for takeoff into position on runway 23 after our landing, with traffic on final behind us. Tower then asked us to make the next taxiway for assistance in getting the other aircraft departed. We exited runway onto taxiway, prior to contacting ground control. Ground control advised us we were in violation of far's because we did not contact them prior to taxi on active taxiway. No aircraft were in conflict and we did so under instruction from tower.
