Narrative:

A normal approach, touchdown, and landing were made on runway 9L at mia. Upon landing, tower instructed us to vacate runway 9L to the right at intersection M4. We were then instructed to continue on taxiway M and to hold short of taxiway Z. Upon reaching taxiway Z, we were cleared to cross taxiway Z, and instructed to hold short of runway 9L at the M1 intersection. Due to floods caused by heavy rains, our chief pilot had called the tower and instructed them to advise our incoming aircraft to avoid taxiing on standing water. Our aircraft were going to be towed across the standing water with engines shut down. We were then advised by ground control that they had been in contact with our company operations. Ground then instructed us to taxi across runway 9L at intersection M1. We were instructed to come to a stop when clear of runway 9L on the north side and that ground control would advise us when to shut down. We were told by ground that after shutdown a company tug would tow us to the ramp. After a very slow taxi of about 30 ft, a strong vibration was felt accompanied by extreme water spray covering the front of the aircraft. At the first indication of said occurrence, the PF pressed the stop buttons and pulled the stop and feather levers. At this time we were approximately 10 ft over the hold short line on the runway side, but not actually on the runway. We then advised ground of our situation and position. Approximately 3 mins later a company tug towed the aircraft to the ramp with substantial damage to both propellers. No advisories were given to the standing water and no txwys were closed due to the floods at the time.

Title: A RAINY DAY IN MIAMI FLOODS THE ARPT. AIR TAXI OPERATOR, IN SPITE OF COORD WITH TWR, ENDS UP WITH AN ACFT IN A PUDDLE WITH 2 DAMAGED PROPS.

Narrative: A NORMAL APCH, TOUCHDOWN, AND LNDG WERE MADE ON RWY 9L AT MIA. UPON LNDG, TWR INSTRUCTED US TO VACATE RWY 9L TO THE R AT INTXN M4. WE WERE THEN INSTRUCTED TO CONTINUE ON TXWY M AND TO HOLD SHORT OF TXWY Z. UPON REACHING TXWY Z, WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS TXWY Z, AND INSTRUCTED TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 9L AT THE M1 INTXN. DUE TO FLOODS CAUSED BY HVY RAINS, OUR CHIEF PLT HAD CALLED THE TWR AND INSTRUCTED THEM TO ADVISE OUR INCOMING ACFT TO AVOID TAXIING ON STANDING WATER. OUR ACFT WERE GOING TO BE TOWED ACROSS THE STANDING WATER WITH ENGS SHUT DOWN. WE WERE THEN ADVISED BY GND CTL THAT THEY HAD BEEN IN CONTACT WITH OUR COMPANY OPS. GND THEN INSTRUCTED US TO TAXI ACROSS RWY 9L AT INTXN M1. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO COME TO A STOP WHEN CLR OF RWY 9L ON THE N SIDE AND THAT GND CTL WOULD ADVISE US WHEN TO SHUT DOWN. WE WERE TOLD BY GND THAT AFTER SHUTDOWN A COMPANY TUG WOULD TOW US TO THE RAMP. AFTER A VERY SLOW TAXI OF ABOUT 30 FT, A STRONG VIBRATION WAS FELT ACCOMPANIED BY EXTREME WATER SPRAY COVERING THE FRONT OF THE ACFT. AT THE FIRST INDICATION OF SAID OCCURRENCE, THE PF PRESSED THE STOP BUTTONS AND PULLED THE STOP AND FEATHER LEVERS. AT THIS TIME WE WERE APPROX 10 FT OVER THE HOLD SHORT LINE ON THE RWY SIDE, BUT NOT ACTUALLY ON THE RWY. WE THEN ADVISED GND OF OUR SIT AND POS. APPROX 3 MINS LATER A COMPANY TUG TOWED THE ACFT TO THE RAMP WITH SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO BOTH PROPS. NO ADVISORIES WERE GIVEN TO THE STANDING WATER AND NO TXWYS WERE CLOSED DUE TO THE FLOODS AT THE TIME.
