Narrative:
Contacted local FSS for advisory and was not given any NOTAMS that airfield had been changed to temporary tower for special event. I filed flight plan prior to departure and again did not receive any NOTAMS that airfield had been changed to temporary controled tower for this special event. I contacted unicom for approach to airfield and was given active runway and no reported traffic. The first I knew of controled airfield was when I walked into FBO office.

Title: A PA140 PVT PLT LWOC WHEN IE IS UNAWARE OF THE TEMPORARY ATCT LCL CTL SET UP FOR A SPECIAL EVENT AT MGR, GA.
Narrative: CONTACTED LCL FSS FOR ADVISORY AND WAS NOT GIVEN ANY NOTAMS THAT AIRFIELD HAD BEEN CHANGED TO TEMPORARY TWR FOR SPECIAL EVENT. I FILED FLT PLAN PRIOR TO DEP AND AGAIN DID NOT RECEIVE ANY NOTAMS THAT AIRFIELD HAD BEEN CHANGED TO TEMPORARY CTLED TWR FOR THIS SPECIAL EVENT. I CONTACTED UNICOM FOR APCH TO AIRFIELD AND WAS GIVEN ACTIVE RWY AND NO RPTED TFC. THE FIRST I KNEW OF CTLED AIRFIELD WAS WHEN I WALKED INTO FBO OFFICE.
