Narrative:
Told to cross aries at 8000 ft. After completing checklist and briefing approach, captain's leg. Saw we were a couple mi short of aries and not going to make restr. Told captain 'it was aries at 8000 ft.' he deployed speed brakes and flight level change and descended. Tokyo approach gave vectors to final. Nothing further said. I pride myself in being very competent pilot. Would never have believed this could happen to me. Will never happen again. Supplemental information from acn 490600: there had been a couple changes to our clearance for crossing, which may have confused the PF.
