Narrative:
We departed ege on the published departure procedure. The departure procedure is not written clearly enough to explain the whole procedure. A review of the departure needs to be conducted and it should be rewritten. The departure was confusing and resulted in us not making a turn in order to avoid ase airspace. Also we were under radar contact at the time. ATC did not advise us of our deviation until we were already into ase airspace without a clearance. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter said that they were confused by the way the altitude and routing was written. They believed that their initial heading was to be maintained until they reached the altitude given. The reporter said that even though they had an FMS system it was not loaded with this departure and they were using standard VOR navigation.
