Narrative:
I got grit in the eye. I tried to wash it out with eye drops, which turned out to be for allergies. It caused extreme dilation of the pupil for 6 hours. I kept it covered during the flight. I went to an ophthalmologist the next day. There was no permanent injury. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated she got the grit in her eye while waiting for their crew pickup outside their layover hotel in sfo. She was in a lot of discomfort, and borrowed another flight attendant's allergy eye drops. After completing the fist meal service, she went into the lavatory and saw only black in her right eye, which was the dilated pupil. She had the pilots call their company's medical department to see what to do. They told her that the eye drops were designed to dry out the eyes, so this is what escalated the problem. She didn't work the rest of the flight.
