Narrative:
LNAV would not arm prior to takeoff at sna. We manually flew departure. Prior to 5000 ft with magenta route off to the right side of the aircraft symbol, I attempted to engage LNAV again. The map then shifted to the nose of the aircraft symbol.

Narrative: LNAV WOULD NOT ARM PRIOR TO TKOF AT SNA. WE MANUALLY FLEW DEP. PRIOR TO 5000 FT WITH MAGENTA RTE OFF TO THE R SIDE OF THE ACFT SYMBOL, I ATTEMPTED TO ENGAGE LNAV AGAIN. THE MAP THEN SHIFTED TO THE NOSE OF THE ACFT SYMBOL.
