Narrative:

While troubleshooting a wiring problem in the fuel quantity system of aircraft xyz, I inadvertently swapped the electrical connectors on the #1 and #2 tanks fuel quantity indicators at the flight engineer's station. The connectors were not clearly marked, thus the mix-up. While in-flight, the problem was discovered and corrected upon arrival in XXX. The fuel quantity system now operates normally. If I had removed the electrical connectors one at a time, there wouldn't have been the mix-up.

Title: A B727-200 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE #1 FUEL QUANTITY INDICATOR CONNECTOR AND THE #2 FUEL QUANTITY INDICATOR CONNECTOR SWAPPED BEHIND THE INDICATORS ON THE FE'S PANEL.

IF I HAD REMOVED THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ONE AT A TIME, THERE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THE MIX-UP.
