Narrative:
We were cleared into position and hold on runway 2L, after another B727 landed from a different carrier. After the B727 landed, he turned off the runway and we were cleared for takeoff. When we passed by the B727, it appeared to be off the runway but still in the runway environment, according to the first officer, who had the best view. No actions were required to maintain safe clearance. This report has also been filed by the captain and first officer.
