Narrative:
On dec/xa/00, flying as PNF, first officer on air carrier flight xx DC9-83 aircraft xyz, it was later discovered that the MEL 34-9B was an improper MEL for the actual problem with the aircraft. The captain and I flew the aircraft in accordance with special procedures for MEL 34-9B as all information and paperwork provided at the time of this flight event.

Title: A DC9-83 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH AN MEL ITEM DEFERRED BUT NOT MATCHING THE RPTED FAULT ON THE ACFT.
Narrative: ON DEC/XA/00, FLYING AS PNF, FO ON ACR FLT XX DC9-83 ACFT XYZ, IT WAS LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE MEL 34-9B WAS AN IMPROPER MEL FOR THE ACTUAL PROB WITH THE ACFT. THE CAPT AND I FLEW THE ACFT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIAL PROCS FOR MEL 34-9B AS ALL INFO AND PAPERWORK PROVIDED AT THE TIME OF THIS FLT EVENT.
