Narrative:
Baggage truck ran into lower aft portion of fuselage. Possible damage to stringers. Aircraft downed, flight canceled. Truck was parked, in idle, engine running while bags being loaded. 'Slipped' into gear. Began rolling under own power, uncontrolled.

Title: AN MD88 CREW RPTED THAT, WHILE AT THE GATE AT PIT, A BAGGAGE TRUCK, PARKED IN IDLE, SUDDENLY SLIPPED INTO GEAR AND STRUCK THE LOWER AFT PORTION OF THE FUSELAGE, CAUSING THE FLT TO BE CANCELED.
Narrative: BAGGAGE TRUCK RAN INTO LOWER AFT PORTION OF FUSELAGE. POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO STRINGERS. ACFT DOWNED, FLT CANCELED. TRUCK WAS PARKED, IN IDLE, ENG RUNNING WHILE BAGS BEING LOADED. 'SLIPPED' INTO GEAR. BEGAN ROLLING UNDER OWN PWR, UNCTLED.
