Narrative:
I chose to exit the runway using the high speed taxiway to clear the runway for landing traffic. Kept my speed up to cross the parallel runway, became distraction at this time and almost overshot the stop bars for an intersecting taxiway. Even though I momentarily became unaware of my situation due to distraction, once I was cognizant again I was able to decide the corrective action without delay. In the future, I will continue to 'fly' the airplane until I reach the chocks.

Title: PA38 PLT TAXIING WITH DISTRS.
Narrative: I CHOSE TO EXIT THE RWY USING THE HIGH SPD TXWY TO CLR THE RWY FOR LNDG TFC. KEPT MY SPD UP TO CROSS THE PARALLEL RWY, BECAME DISTR AT THIS TIME AND ALMOST OVERSHOT THE STOP BARS FOR AN INTERSECTING TXWY. EVEN THOUGH I MOMENTARILY BECAME UNAWARE OF MY SIT DUE TO DISTR, ONCE I WAS COGNIZANT AGAIN I WAS ABLE TO DECIDE THE CORRECTIVE ACTION WITHOUT DELAY. IN THE FUTURE, I WILL CONTINUE TO 'FLY' THE AIRPLANE UNTIL I REACH THE CHOCKS.
