Narrative:
Location: west of bhm during climb. Flight departed bhm with both autoplts inoperative and both stabilizer trims inoperative. Icing conditions existed across most of the southeast. After climbing through several layers of clouds, we got an engine #2 anti-ice warning on MFDU. We followed the checklist and the fault would not reset. We then advised ZTL of problem and declared an emergency. We also asked for and received a block altitude to maintain VFR. We then diverted to bna because it had the best WX reports. We tried to maintain VFR, but we had to descend through overcast clouds en route to bna. We made an overweight landing on runway 2C. We thanked deadheading F100 captain for his assistance.
