Narrative:
At leveloff, with autoplt on, aircraft overshot assigned altitude by 300 ft. We were assigned FL350, aircraft leveled at FL353. ATC advised traffic opposite direction at FL370. We immediately corrected to FL350. There was never any loss of minimum separation. We saw the autoplt starting to level off and assumed it would level at FL350. We could have been more aggressive shutting off autoplt and forcing the airplane down to FL350.

Narrative: AT LEVELOFF, WITH AUTOPLT ON, ACFT OVERSHOT ASSIGNED ALT BY 300 FT. WE WERE ASSIGNED FL350, ACFT LEVELED AT FL353. ATC ADVISED TFC OPPOSITE DIRECTION AT FL370.
