Narrative:
Saratoga was on training mission waiting to depart one aircraft (type unknown) reported final and a glider reported downwind (runway 31). Aircraft landed and saratoga called 'taking active', just as saratoga entered runway glider called 'base'. Saratoga lined up on runway, but landing aircraft had not cleared. Glider called 'final' and just as saratoga began roll glider alerted he was on final and was coming down on saratoga. Saratoga accelerated to displaced threshold and departed, but the glider pilot reported the was only 100 ft of clearance during the incident saratoga should have waited for glider to land or taxied clear when glider turned base. Contributing factor -failure of landing aircraft to clear active runway in timely fashion. Callback conversation with the reporter revealed the following information: instructor pilot said after the incident he returned to the field and landed to talk to the glider pilot. He apologized to the glider pilot and accepted full responsibility for the incident. He said he should have waited for the glider to land.

Title: PLT AND INSTRUCTOR AT 307 TAXIED INTO POS ON RWY WHILE GLIDER WAS ON SHORT FINAL.
Narrative: SARATOGA WAS ON TRAINING MISSION WAITING TO DEPART ONE ACFT (TYPE UNKNOWN) RPTED FINAL AND A GLIDER RPTED DOWNWIND (RWY 31). ACFT LANDED AND SARATOGA CALLED 'TAKING ACTIVE', JUST AS SARATOGA ENTERED RWY GLIDER CALLED 'BASE'. SARATOGA LINED UP ON RWY, BUT LNDG ACFT HAD NOT CLRED. GLIDER CALLED 'FINAL' AND JUST AS SARATOGA BEGAN ROLL GLIDER ALERTED HE WAS ON FINAL AND WAS COMING DOWN ON SARATOGA. SARATOGA ACCELERATED TO DISPLACED THRESHOLD AND DEPARTED, BUT THE GLIDER PLT RPTED THE WAS ONLY 100 FT OF CLEARANCE DURING THE INCIDENT SARATOGA SHOULD HAVE WAITED FOR GLIDER TO LAND OR TAXIED CLEAR WHEN GLIDER TURNED BASE. CONTRIBUTING FACTOR -FAILURE OF LNDG ACFT TO CLR ACTIVE RWY IN TIMELY FASHION. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH THE RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: INSTRUCTOR PLT SAID AFTER THE INCIDENT HE RETURNED TO THE FIELD AND LANDED TO TALK TO THE GLIDER PLT.
