Narrative:
While on a heading to intercept the localizer at mdw, we had a split flap indication on our flap gauges. We asked for vectors to ord and landed normally after completing all appropriate checklists.

Title: B727 FLC DIVERTED TO NEARBY ARPT VIA ATC VECTORS AFTER THE SPLIT FLAP WARNING CAME ON DURING FLAP EXTENSION IN PREPARATION FOR LNDG.
Narrative: WHILE ON A HDG TO INTERCEPT THE LOC AT MDW, WE HAD A SPLIT FLAP INDICATION ON OUR FLAP GAUGES. WE ASKED FOR VECTORS TO ORD AND LANDED NORMALLY AFTER COMPLETING ALL APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS.
