Narrative:

Flight attendant on duty. We had a ground stop for the tul-dfw leg. After this delay, we taxied without delay to position and hold. I was monitoring the completion of the predep PA/video while in position and hold. Upon completion of the tape, I gave the prepare for departure PA shortly followed by the chime. We had previously been cleared for takeoff at our discretion by the tower. I advanced the power and departed. During climb out, we were advised that a flight attendant fell during the takeoff roll while returning to her jump seat. We continued to dfw and advised dispatch to notify medical. Upon arrival, someone from flight service met the flight and escorted the flight attendant to medical. The extent of her injuries appeared to be a contusion to her right wrist and she complained of a bruised hip. Lesson learned: give more time for the flight attendant compliance check prior to departure. At no time did the process feel rushed, however, it is obvious the flight attendants needed more time to complete their duties. Supplemental information from acn 501969: after a 30 min delay at the gate in tul, we taxied to runway 36R. At the end of the runway we were cleared for takeoff, but the flight attendants were not ready. We told tower that we were not ready. They cleared us for takeoff at our discretion. We listened for the end of the takeoff PA, completed our takeoff checklist. After takeoff, we were informed that the flight attendants were not yet seated and that one fell and cut herself. She came to the cockpit and indicated she was still doing her walk-through. We should have taken more time after the end of the PA till takeoff.
