Narrative:
After pushback, we got a flight spoilers caution message on engine start but it cleared itself in a couple of seconds. On taxi out, we got it again. While I was taxiing, he was checking circuit breaker. (This was after we got a second flight spoilers caution message). The first officer pulled and reset a circuit breaker, thus clearing the problem. We continued, I explained to him that was maintenance's function and it's not approved unless directed by maintenance. The message appeared and disappeared 2 more times in-flight.
