Narrative:
I called ground and was told to taxi and hold on the parallel. Where we were sitting was confusing of where to call the tower. I called ground 3 times to find out where we were in line. I didn't get a response and switched to tower. A king air 1900 was flashing his landing lights and people were going in front of him so we continued as he was flashing us. The person in copilot's seat was trying to call ground as I was trying to call tower and the 1900 never moved, so we taxied up. In our parking area that we were at was confusing about where to call tower. We were 1 of 4 planes in that parking area, so when we taxied up we were #2 for the hold short line. We called the controller when we got home and he said he could see how it would be confusing. We said sorry and he said ok.
