Narrative:

I was on a training flight with one of my students. After we had finished working under the hood and I had told him to take off the hood, I was continuing to scan the area for other aircraft when I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked and there, about 100-200 ft below me, was a cherokee 6 at my 4 O'clock position, low. I turned left to avoid him and he turned left to avoid me. I was currently on our company's traffic advisory frequency. I don't think that he was on that frequency but he wouldn't have known about it. I think that this could have been avoided if I had increased my scan for traffic a little faster.
