Narrative:
I took off runway 17L. Cos tower reported winds 260 degrees at 27 KTS gusting to 40 KTS. I didn't think I needed to include the gust in the maximum crosswind limit, but now, after talking to several pilots, I'm coming up with different answers. Now I'm not so sure that I was legal for takeoff.
