Narrative:
Installed nose landing gear piston (strut) on aircraft X after the piston was already replaced and had 'ok to install' on the paperwork. Installed piston, svced -- gear swing good. Released aircraft back to service. Aircraft flew the next day with no problems on nose landing gear.

Title: GND MAINT PERSON REINSTALLS A REPACKAGED NOSE GEAR STRUT FOR AN MD80 ACFT THAT WAS NOT SVCABLE FOR INSTALLATION BUT MISMARKED AS SVCABLE AT ZZZ, US.
Narrative: INSTALLED NOSE LNDG GEAR PISTON (STRUT) ON ACFT X AFTER THE PISTON WAS ALREADY REPLACED AND HAD 'OK TO INSTALL' ON THE PAPERWORK. INSTALLED PISTON, SVCED -- GEAR SWING GOOD. RELEASED ACFT BACK TO SVC. ACFT FLEW THE NEXT DAY WITH NO PROBS ON NOSE LNDG GEAR.
