Narrative:

Aircraft were both being sequenced for arrival to dtw. Lead aircraft was switched to next sector that normally descends to FL330. I had not turned lead aircraft toward next fix by mistake and did turn following aircraft toward fix. Separation was inadvertently lost when following aircraft caught lead. Supplemental information from acn 514433: WX in central ohio. All detroit area arrs were rerouted over ind to avoid the WX. This caused a major spacing problem for the en route sectors over ind. Supplemental information from acn 514834: while providing general oversight in a controller in charge (controller in charge) capacity, and operational error occurred. High and super high sectors were out of control and chaotic due to saturation. Center flow control was responsible for routing a dangerous amount of traffic into already busy sectors.

Title: ZID CTLR ISSUES CLRNC TO WRONG ACR WHICH CAUSES A CONFLICT WHICH IS COMPLICATED BY AREA WX, CENTRAL FLOW CTL WX REROUTES AND HVY TFC SECTOR VOLUME.

Narrative: ACFT WERE BOTH BEING SEQUENCED FOR ARR TO DTW. LEAD ACFT WAS SWITCHED TO NEXT SECTOR THAT NORMALLY DSNDS TO FL330. I HAD NOT TURNED LEAD ACFT TOWARD NEXT FIX BY MISTAKE AND DID TURN FOLLOWING ACFT TOWARD FIX. SEPARATION WAS INADVERTENTLY LOST WHEN FOLLOWING ACFT CAUGHT LEAD. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 514433: WX IN CENTRAL OHIO. ALL DETROIT AREA ARRS WERE REROUTED OVER IND TO AVOID THE WX. THIS CAUSED A MAJOR SPACING PROB FOR THE ENRTE SECTORS OVER IND. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 514834: WHILE PROVIDING GENERAL OVERSIGHT IN A CIC (CTLR IN CHARGE) CAPACITY, AND OPERROR OCCURRED. HIGH AND SUPER HIGH SECTORS WERE OUT OF CTL AND CHAOTIC DUE TO SATURATION. CTR FLOW CTL WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR ROUTING A DANGEROUS AMOUNT OF TFC INTO ALREADY BUSY SECTORS.
