Narrative:

Captain incapacitated in-flight. Aircraft continued to houston. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: crew was on an international pacific flight. The captain had just moved a heavy crew suitcase and felt something snap. He then had severe back spasms. He was taken to the crew bunk, and examined by an onboard passenger md. The md stated nothing would be gained by an emergency landing, short of the destination. The flight was met by a medical team and the captain was removed on a stretcher. The reporter does not know the final disposition of the captain. The crew consisted of a captain and 3 type rated first officer's. After consulting with company dispatch, and the company chief pilot, it was jointly decided the best course of action would be continue to destination. The event occurred about 2 hours after takeoff.

Title: B777 CAPT WAS INCAPACITATED BY SEVERE BACK SPASMS AFTER MOVING A SUITCASE ON AN INTL FLT.

Narrative: CAPT INCAPACITATED INFLT. ACFT CONTINUED TO HOUSTON. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: CREW WAS ON AN INTL PACIFIC FLT. THE CAPT HAD JUST MOVED A HVY CREW SUITCASE AND FELT SOMETHING SNAP. HE THEN HAD SEVERE BACK SPASMS. HE WAS TAKEN TO THE CREW BUNK, AND EXAMINED BY AN ONBOARD PAX MD. THE MD STATED NOTHING WOULD BE GAINED BY AN EMER LNDG, SHORT OF THE DEST. THE FLT WAS MET BY A MEDICAL TEAM AND THE CAPT WAS REMOVED ON A STRETCHER. THE RPTR DOES NOT KNOW THE FINAL DISPOSITION OF THE CAPT. THE CREW CONSISTED OF A CAPT AND 3 TYPE RATED FO'S. AFTER CONSULTING WITH COMPANY DISPATCH, AND THE COMPANY CHIEF PLT, IT WAS JOINTLY DECIDED THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION WOULD BE CONTINUE TO DEST. THE EVENT OCCURRED ABOUT 2 HRS AFTER TKOF.
