Narrative:
My first officer and I were confused about the LAXX3 departure off runway 25L at lax. Our company had incomplete data in our FMC regarding the dag transition which we were assigned, specifically the role sli VOR plays in it. In my opinion, the commercial plate is vague. Socal spoon fed it to us airborne and we remained within parameters, however, we were embarrassed and also impressed as to how easily we could have made a serious error.
