Narrative:

So on ferry flight. Aircraft had a hole in the #3 engine nose cowl. Hole was covered with speed tape and the aircraft was cleared to one-time ferry to denver. We received a type ii permit to ferry tail #xyz. Captain talked to maintenance, line maintenance system control, and dispatch. The flight went without incident, but upon arrival, a maintenance individual at the hangar indicated the aircraft was not legal to defer because of the location of the damage. I have a copy of the type ii permit for my records.
