Narrative:
On short final to runway 9L, we observed an MD80 pass nearly underneath us while on their takeoff roll from runway 32L. We were cleared to land on runway 9L at 10 mi on frequency 126.9. We were given priority handling into ord for a medical situation that developed some time earlier. The captain was flying, and I didn't notice the MD80 until we were nearly over runway 32L on glide path for runway 9L. The distance between our jets seemed closer than should have been, but evasive maneuvering was not necessary by us. I feel our being designated a lifeguard flight en route, and the non routine handling into ord may have created a coordination error in the ord tower.

Title: B767 LNDG ON RWY 9L, PASSED DIRECTLY OVER MD80 TAKING OFF ON RWY 32L AT ORD.
Narrative: ON SHORT FINAL TO RWY 9L, WE OBSERVED AN MD80 PASS NEARLY UNDERNEATH US WHILE ON THEIR TKOF ROLL FROM RWY 32L. WE WERE CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 9L AT 10 MI ON FREQ 126.9. WE WERE GIVEN PRIORITY HANDLING INTO ORD FOR A MEDICAL SIT THAT DEVELOPED SOME TIME EARLIER. THE CAPT WAS FLYING, AND I DIDN'T NOTICE THE MD80 UNTIL WE WERE NEARLY OVER RWY 32L ON GLIDE PATH FOR RWY 9L. THE DISTANCE BTWN OUR JETS SEEMED CLOSER THAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN, BUT EVASIVE MANEUVERING WAS NOT NECESSARY BY US. I FEEL OUR BEING DESIGNATED A LIFEGUARD FLT ENRTE, AND THE NON ROUTINE HANDLING INTO ORD MAY HAVE CREATED A COORD ERROR IN THE ORD TWR.
