Narrative:
There is a ASOS frequency spillover/conflict. We were attempting to get local airport information while descending to land at kmpv (barre/mountpelier vt).while only 20 NM south (coming from bos area), down through 10000 ft MSL. We were still receiving taunton, ma ASOS information. Both frqs are 132.675. Tauntom (ktan) is 150 NM south of kmpv! VFR was ok but not great. Kmpv is uncontrolled field. Terrain to north plus our speed/AC type dictates planning the approach descent properly depending on local wind/runways in use. For some reason, the ASOS information at mpv was overpowered by taunton even though we were 20 NM from kmpv and 130 NM from ktan. This would be a problem if flying conditions were worse and IFR approach needed to be selected ahead of time. Also, 132.675 has been in place at kmpv for some yrs, ktan's is more recent. Please turn down the power at ktan!
