Narrative:
WX was overcast, broken layers of various hts with intermittent rain. Visibility was good on the ground outside of rain showers. The rain was lightly falling, as we approached the runway. An air carrier cargo was cleared for takeoff, and the aircraft in front of our aircraft, another passenger jet, was cleared into position and wait on runway 7R, expect a 5 min wait for departure separation. After the 5 min wait, they were cleared for takeoff. Tower made several other radio calls, then advised us to taxi into position runway 7R and wait, expect 5 min wait. After we started our taxi onto the runway 7R, the tower advised us to vacate the runway immediately. We observed an aircraft on about 3 NM final as it came out of the clouds on final. We cleared the runway uneventfully and contacted ground. The aircraft on final landed after we cleared the runway.
