Narrative:
VFR flight under approach squawk code over downtown jacksonville called controller to advise frequency change for ATIS/tower call for landing at crg. Controller advised 'keep squawk code, call craig tower' (NFCT). Upon calling tower, controller as extremely rude, stated my intentions for landing at crg. He told me to enter left downtown for runway 32, which I did. There was no one else in pattern, so I proceeded to base and final and landed. Controller called me asking me if I had clearance to land. I replied no. The controller was extremely rude and condescending. I feel that his manner was totally unprofessional. It's as though he waited for me to land, the he scolded me like a 2 yr old, telling me to call the tower on the phone. When I called the tower, he told me that he originally told me to report midfield. I never heard him say this. I, as PIC, was wrong for landing without a clearance. However, we, as a controller, should not have put the flight at risk by communicating in this manner while I was flying the plane. He scolded me on the phone and stated that this conversation never happened and that he knew what I looked like and if it happened again, he would have the FAA chase me down and take my tickets.

Title: PA28 PLT LWOC AT CRG ARPT AND CLAIMS CONTRACT TWR CTLR WAS UNNECESSARILY ABUSIVE WITH HIS COMMENTS ABOUT THE SIT.
Narrative: VFR FLT UNDER APCH SQUAWK CODE OVER DOWNTOWN JACKSONVILLE CALLED CTLR TO ADVISE FREQ CHANGE FOR ATIS/TWR CALL FOR LNDG AT CRG. CTLR ADVISED 'KEEP SQUAWK CODE, CALL CRAIG TWR' (NFCT). UPON CALLING TWR, CTLR AS EXTREMELY RUDE, STATED MY INTENTIONS FOR LNDG AT CRG. HE TOLD ME TO ENTER L DOWNTOWN FOR RWY 32, WHICH I DID. THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE IN PATTERN, SO I PROCEEDED TO BASE AND FINAL AND LANDED. CTLR CALLED ME ASKING ME IF I HAD CLRNC TO LAND. I REPLIED NO. THE CTLR WAS EXTREMELY RUDE AND CONDESCENDING. I FEEL THAT HIS MANNER WAS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. IT'S AS THOUGH HE WAITED FOR ME TO LAND, THE HE SCOLDED ME LIKE A 2 YR OLD, TELLING ME TO CALL THE TWR ON THE PHONE. WHEN I CALLED THE TWR, HE TOLD ME THAT HE ORIGINALLY TOLD ME TO RPT MIDFIELD. I NEVER HEARD HIM SAY THIS. I, AS PIC, WAS WRONG FOR LNDG WITHOUT A CLRNC. HOWEVER, WE, AS A CTLR, SHOULD NOT HAVE PUT THE FLT AT RISK BY COMMUNICATING IN THIS MANNER WHILE I WAS FLYING THE PLANE. HE SCOLDED ME ON THE PHONE AND STATED THAT THIS CONVERSATION NEVER HAPPENED AND THAT HE KNEW WHAT I LOOKED LIKE AND IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN, HE WOULD HAVE THE FAA CHASE ME DOWN AND TAKE MY TICKETS.
